This method is applicable to both knitted and woven fabrics for determining their snagging performance using the tumble‑box test.
YG511-VI Type Pilling Tester with Rotating Drum (4-Box Method)
This instrument is used to evaluate the pilling and fuzzing performance of wool, knitted fabrics, and other fabrics prone to pilling. A fabric specimen is fitted over a sample holder and placed in a square wooden box lined with rubber cork of a specified coefficient of friction; the assembly is then rolled a prescribed number of times. The resulting fabric is compared with standard reference samples to determine the pilling grade.

YG522 Abrasion Testing Machine (TABER Abraser)
This instrument is suitable for wear‑resistance testing of materials such as leather, fabrics, coatings, paper, floor tiles, plywood, glass, and natural rubber. The procedure involves cutting test specimens with a standard cutter, subjecting them to abrasion using a specified‑type grinding wheel under a prescribed load, and continuing the test until a set number of revolutions is reached. The specimen is then removed, and its post‑abrasion condition is examined, or the difference between its initial weight and its weight after testing is measured. The wear index is calculated according to the following formula: (weight loss due to abrasion ÷ number of test revolutions) × 1000.
