Following constant-pressure compaction, the eccentricity is removed, and the specimen is further leveled under constant pressure during rotation, thereby completing the experimental procedure for preparing cylindrical specimens of hot-mix asphalt.

Product Introduction:

In the laboratory, to simulate the volumetric and engineering properties of actual pavement materials, specimens are subjected to a constant vertical compaction pressure, a fixed compaction angle, and a prescribed compaction rotational speed—three key technical conditions—while undergoing uniform circular cyclic rotation at an eccentric angle. Following constant-pressure compaction, the eccentricity is removed, and the specimen is further leveled through continued rotation under constant pressure, thereby completing the experimental procedure for preparing cylindrical specimens of hot-mix asphalt.

The compaction angle specified in this standard refers to the effective internal angle during the gyratory compactor test.

Structure:

The rotary compactor primarily consists of a reaction frame, a loading mechanism, a rotating base, force‑measurement and displacement‑measurement devices, a computer control system, and test molds. The figure illustrates the structural schematic of a rotary compactor that integrates electronic and mechanical technologies.
