Description

Product Introduction:

As a critical piece of equipment for SuperPave asphalt pavements, the gyratory compactor’s accuracy plays a pivotal role in the preparation and application of actual asphalt mixture specimens. (Research has shown that the engineering properties of gyratory‑compacted asphalt mixtures closely resemble those observed under real‑world pavement service conditions.) It is a compaction device that simulates the volumetric characteristics and material behavior of in‑service pavement layers, producing cylindrical asphalt mixture specimens through a kneading‑type compaction process conducted under constant axial pressure, a fixed compaction angle, and a fixed rotational speed. The gyratory compactor serves as an alternative to the Marshall compactor for fabricating cylindrical test specimens; it not only allows the number of rotations to be adjusted based on traffic volume but also enables control of specimen height according to design requirements, thereby facilitating compaction‑degree management—particularly in the design of permeable asphalt base courses. Our company’s newly developed next‑generation gyratory compactor employs pneumatic pressure as the axial load source. Compared with motor‑driven lead‑screw loading, this approach delivers superior precision and stability in axial loading. Moreover, owing to the compressibility of air, the axial pressure exhibits reduced fluctuations during the compaction process.

Compared with similar products on the market, our equipment offers additional advantages: an integrated body design; a built-in pressure source (eliminating the need for an external air compressor); an integrated electric demolding unit (obviating the requirement for an external demolder); an easy-to-use embedded touchscreen display mounted on the front; and a touch‑controlled, motorized lifting safety door. When compared with other rotary compaction devices, our product delivers significant improvements in operational safety, equipment durability, and user-friendliness.

In terms of software-based human–machine interaction, we have integrated the key functions of most commercially available rotary compaction testers. The interface is simple, user-friendly, and visually appealing, featuring real-time height‑versus‑time curves, live angle and height readings, and density displays. It also offers programmable time‑delayed automatic mold release, automatic saving and retrieval of test data, and the ability to export curve data via USB—meeting both field‑testing and research requirements.

Reference standard:

JTG 3410-2025 T0736-2025, JT/T 724-2008, AASHTO T312, AASHTO TP71-2007, ASTM D6925.

Features and Benefits

It is also compatible with specimen preparation for φ100 and φ150 mm specimens (the φ100 specimen kit is an optional accessory).

Axial pressure is maintained at a constant level using an imported high-precision constant-pressure valve, ensuring minimal fluctuations in axial pressure during testing.

The device integrates a silent air pump and an air tank, eliminating the need for an external air compressor.

The machine body integrates an electric demolding device, with a built-in programmable delayed automatic demolding function.

An electrically operated protective door with touch‑controlled operation; during automatic clamping, the door opens and closes automatically in accordance with the safety‑programmed sequence, based on the instrument’s status. A unique advanced user mode allows the system’s safety programs to be disabled, enabling testing with the protective door open.

Concealed built-in LED lighting system.

It employs an imported PLC and a 10.1-inch configuration touch screen, featuring closed-loop speed control and real-time graphical display of parameters such as angle, height, number of turns, and density. The specimen‑forming method offers optional compaction modes based on either height control or turn‑count control.

It can record multiple sets of compaction curve data and compaction parameters, allow them to be viewed, and export them as Excel files via USB.

Provides a random calibration kit box (including height and axial load calibration tools) (optional accessory)

Optional accessories are not included in the instrument configuration list and must be ordered separately.
