Product Introduction:
Brinell hardness is a standard method for expressing material hardness. Proposed initially by the Swedish scientist J.A. Brinell, it is therefore known as Brinell hardness. The Brinell hardness test (HB) involves applying a specified test load to press a hardened steel ball or a hard alloy ball of a defined diameter into the surface of the metal being tested, holding the load for a prescribed period, then removing it and measuring the diameter of the resulting indentation. This method is suitable for cast iron, non‑ferrous alloys, and various annealed or tempered steels; however, it is not recommended for specimens or workpieces that are excessively hard, very small, extremely thin, or whose surfaces must remain free of significant indentations. The Vickers hardness tester is primarily used for testing tiny, thin specimens and brittle materials. By selecting appropriate accessories or upgrading its structural design, it can be widely applied to a broad range of metals—including ferrous and non‑ferrous metals, castings, and alloy materials—as well as to microstructural analyses, surface‑treated layers, electroplated coatings, hardened layers (such as oxide films, various diffusion coatings, and plating), heat‑treated samples, carburized parts, quenched components, and minute regions containing phase inclusions. It is also suitable for testing brittle, hard non‑metallic materials such as glass, agate, synthetic gemstones, and ceramics. Furthermore, it enables precise multi‑point measurements on minute areas, deep‑layer indentation testing and analysis, evaluation of diffusion and coating layers, determination of hardness gradients, and observation and study of metallographic structures, along with measurement and analysis of coating thicknesses. As such, it is an indispensable testing instrument for laboratory quality‑control departments, metrology institutes, and materials research. This model has been newly developed in accordance with national standards GB/T 4340.2‑2025, ISO 6507‑2, ASTM E384, and GB/T 231.2, as well as the verification procedures JJG 150‑2005 and EN ISO 6506. It simultaneously accommodates both Brinell and Vickers hardness measurements, greatly enhancing its practicality. Equipped with a closed‑loop loading control system, it delivers high precision in test force application, excellent repeatability and stability of readings, and substantial improvements in optical performance, structural robustness, and durability. With outstanding reliability, ease of operation, and reproducibility, it stands as an ideal solution for determining both Brinell and Vickers hardness. The instrument features programmable software, a high‑magnification optical measurement system, and a dual‑channel optical configuration, incorporating advanced technologies such as photoelectric and optoelectronic sensors. Operated via a touch screen, it allows direct measurement of indentation length and displays hardness values, conversion scales, test force settings, dwell time, and the number of measurements—all clearly presented on the screen.
Main uses and scope of application:
1. Suitable for hardness testing of metallic materials with coarse grains, it can reflect the material’s overall performance.
2. Cast iron, steel, and nonferrous metals, especially softer metals such as pure aluminum, lead, and tin.
3. It can be used for hardness testing of certain non-metallic materials, such as rigid plastics and bakelite.
1. The newly designed LED optical system employs standard neutral white light, offering low power consumption and a long service life. It delivers crisp images and can also function as a basic microscope, with adjustable brightness for comfortable viewing and reduced eye strain during extended use.
2. The 7-inch touch display can show the test method, test force, upper and lower limits of hardness values, pass/fail indicators, measured indentation length, hardness value, test force holding time, number of measurements, and allows input of year, month, and date; it also displays test results and supports data processing.

4. The system features a built-in calibration function, allowing manual adjustment of input error for each test force range to calibrate the instrument.

A total of 18 measurement scales are supported for conversion, including HRA, HRB, HRC, HRD, HRE, HRF, HRG, HRH, HRK, HR15N, HR30N, HR45N, HR15T, HR30T, HR45T, HV, HK, and HBW.
9. Both the high‑power and low‑power objectives can be used for direct hardness measurements.
10. Features a diagonal‑length memory function: the diagonal length is automatically saved when the device is powered off, and upon startup, measurements can be taken directly without needing to reset the zero point.
11. The screen sleep timer can be set; after a prolonged period of inactivity, the device automatically enters sleep mode, saving energy and protecting the environment.
12. The measurement scale can be selected among HV, HBW, and hardness.
13. Test data can be exported directly via the built-in printer or USB (optional).
14. The system supports 14 languages, which can be switched freely: Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Czech, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese; customizable.
