Product Introduction:
The water absorption tester for rigid foams is designed and manufactured in accordance with the national standards: “Determination of Water Absorption of Rigid Cellular Plastics” (ISO 2896:2001), “Test Method for Water Absorption of Plastics” (ASTM D570‑22), “Determination of Water Absorption of Rigid Cellular Plastics” (GB/T 8810‑2005), and “Test Procedures for Geosynthetics in Highway Engineering” JTG 3460‑2026.
The rigid foam plastic water absorption testing system comprises six major components: rigid foam plastic water absorption test calculation software, a specimen-loading mesh cage, a cylindrical container for test samples, a rigid foam plastic mass measurement instrument, a digital display sample slicer, and glass slides.

Test procedure:
1. Weigh the dried sample (m1) to an accuracy of 0.1 g.
2. Measure the linear dimensions of the specimen to calculate its initial volume V0, with an accuracy of 0.1 cm³.
3. In the test environment, distilled water is injected into the cylindrical container.
4. Immerse the mesh cage in water to remove surface air bubbles, suspend it from a balance, and measure its apparent mass (m2), accurate to
0.1 g.
5. Place the specimen into the mesh cage, re‑immerse it in water, ensuring that the top surface of the specimen is approximately 50 mm below the water surface, and gently brush or stir it.
Remove air bubbles from the mesh cage and the sample surface.
6. Cover the cylindrical container with plastic film.
7. After soaking for 96 h ± 1 h, remove the plastic film and weigh the apparent mass of the mesh cage containing the specimen immersed in water.
(m3), accurate to 0.1 g.
8. Remove the specimen from the water and immediately remeasure its dimensions. For ease of measurement, blot off surface water with filter paper before taking measurements.
Section. Observe the swelling behavior of the test specimen and determine the corrections for swelling and for the pore volume at the cut surface.
