Product Introduction:
Designed and manufactured in accordance with relevant standards such as GB/T 10294 and the “Test Procedures for Geosynthetic Materials in Highway Engineering” JTG 3460‑2026, this is a specialized instrument used to determine the thermal conductivity of insulation materials. Thermal conductivity (or thermal resistance) is one of the key thermal performance parameters of insulating materials and serves as the primary technical indicator for evaluating their insulation effectiveness. In recent years, with the introduction of building energy‑saving regulations, China has placed increasing emphasis on energy efficiency in construction. Consequently, accurate measurement of this parameter is essential and plays a crucial role in making informed material selection decisions.
Principle:
Under steady-state conditions, within the central measurement region of the guarded hot plate apparatus, a one-dimensional steady heat flow—similar to that existing in an infinitely large plane with two parallel isothermal surfaces—is established in a uniform, plate‑shaped specimen having parallel faces.
Product Features:
Metering Heating Unit:
An aluminum plate is used as the heating panel; owing to its high thermal conductivity, it ensures more uniform surface temperatures and lower thermal inertia, thereby enhancing the accuracy of measurement results.
Cold Plate Unit:
A constant-temperature water bath is used to regulate the temperatures of the two cold plates; the cold‑plate temperature is programmable and controlled automatically by a microcomputer, which helps maintain a uniform temperature difference between the two sides.
Protection Unit:
It employs the same panel material as the metered heating unit, enabling precise control of the temperature difference across the gap and reducing test errors.
External Protective Unit:
A protective sleeve made of cork is used as the outer shielding unit, stabilizing the experimental environmental conditions and thereby enhancing test accuracy.
Measurement system:
By employing the more stable U.S.-made Dallas DS18B20 digital temperature sensor and a high-precision DC power sensor, data acquisition accuracy is significantly enhanced.
Clamping System:
Employing pneumatic technology, the system uses a cylinder to automatically clamp the specimen, eliminating the need for manual adjustment of clamping force and ensuring extremely convenient specimen loading.
Refrigeration system:
It enables rapid cooling of the cold plate and measurements where the specimen’s average temperature remains below ambient, thereby expanding the measurement range and eliminating dependence on ambient temperature.
