Product Introduction

Low-Temperature Flexibility Tester: This instrument is specifically designed for assessing the low-temperature flexibility of waterproofing membranes, in compliance with national standards GB/T 328.14‑2007 and GB/T 23445‑2025. These standards explicitly stipulate that low-temperature flexibility testing must be conducted using automated mechanical methods to eliminate human‑induced variability. The Low-Temperature Flexibility Tester is an essential piece of equipment for testing laboratories, manufacturers of waterproofing membranes, and quality‑control departments.

Instructions for Use

1. First, place the cooling tank inside the low-temperature chamber and add a refrigerant—either an ethylene glycol/water solution (volume ratio 1:1) or an ethanol/water mixture (volume ratio 2:1) cooled to below −25°C or below −20°C, respectively—until the desired temperature is reached. Then, adjust the distance between the two cylindrical shafts of the flexometer according to the specimen dimensions: bending‑shaft diameter plus 2 mm, plus twice the specimen thickness. Place the specimen on the bending shaft and the support bracket, and subsequently immerse it in the pre‑cooled low‑temperature water tank, ensuring that the upper end of the specimen remains 10 mm below the surface of the refrigerant.

2. Connect the controller to the power supply, and set the temperature and time according to the specifications in the standard. The temperature displayed at this point reflects the coolant temperature. Press the start button; when the temperature reaches the set value, the timer begins counting. Upon reaching the preset duration, the bending shaft, pressing against the specimen, starts to rise at a speed of 360 mm/min. When the bending shaft comes to a stop, the test is complete; inspect the specimen for cracks. Press the down button to lower the bending shaft back to its initial position.

IV. Spacing Adjustment

1. First, use a wrench to loosen the screws on both sides of the two 20-mm spacing rods located at the upper ends of the compliance meter’s main unit.

2. Connect the host machine to the controller; turn on the power; place the bending shaft for the test on the host’s support bracket; press the “Raise” button until the bending shaft is aligned parallel to the spacing rod at the adjusted distance; then press the “Stop” button.

3. Attach the two stainless steel spacing brackets provided at random to the spacing rods at both ends, adjusting the spacing as needed; then bring the two side spacing rods toward the center until the spacing rods, brackets, and bending axis are all in close contact. At this point, tighten the screws on both sides of the spacing rods using a wrench, remove the spacing brackets, and the spacing adjustment is complete.
