Description
Product Introduction
To meet the new requirements of testing institutions at all levels for mechanical and physical property tests of polymer insulation and sheathing materials, a waterstop punch‑and‑slice machine (also known as a slicing machine) has been developed under the guidance of relevant experts at the Suzhou Waterproof Materials Research Institute. It complies with the operational principles for specimen preparation equipment specified in standards such as GB 18242, GB 18173, and GB 12952. Featuring mechanical material feeding and blade‑cutting technology, it can process soft plastics and rubber sheets and is also suitable for slicing certain rubber and leather materials. This machine is widely used in laboratories and production facilities specializing in rubber, plastics, leather, wires, cables, and related research fields. Additionally, it is applicable to the specimen preparation required for mechanical and physical property testing of polymer insulation and sheathing materials in accordance with the standard “General Test Methods for Wire, Cable, and Sheathing Materials,” including submarine cables.

Structure and Usage:
This machine consists of a frame, transmission system, adjustment mechanisms, and control components. The structure and operation of each component are described below:
- Body and Transmission: The lower part of the machine body serves as the base, housing the electric motor and electrical components, with an external start/stop switch. The upper portion constitutes the working section, equipped with left and right frames, a worktable, a clamping shaft, a feed shaft, and adjustment mechanisms. During operation, activating the start switch energizes the motor, initiating the slicer’s rotation; deactivating the stop switch halts the machine. Power transmission is driven by the motor, which rotates the drive shaft via primary and secondary pulleys. Gears mounted at both ends of the drive shaft rotate the feed shaft, and gears on the feed shaft, in turn, drive the clamping shaft to rotate simultaneously.
- Operation and Adjustment: The right-hand operating handwheel is typically used during adjustments; it remains free‑spinning during operation. To adjust the slice thickness, turn the adjustment handwheel atop the machine frame to lower or raise the pressure shaft until the desired feed thickness is achieved. Additionally, adjust the feed shaft by turning the screw beneath the machine frame to raise (or lower) it to the required slice thickness.
