Product Introduction

The complete drying time tester is designed and manufactured in accordance with the latest national standards GB/T 37362.1-2019 and ISO 9117.1-2009. It is used to determine, under standard conditions, whether a single coat or a multilayer coating system of paints, varnishes, or related products has reached a state of complete dryness after a specified drying period, or to measure the drying time required to achieve complete dryness.

The instrument comprises a base and a freely sliding pressure plunger. During testing, a coating of specified thickness—consisting of both pigmented paint and clear varnish—is applied to the substrate and allowed to dry under prescribed conditions. A defined load is then applied to the test area on the coated surface, after which the load is rotated 90° across the coating. The degree of curing of the entire coating is assessed by examining the extent of any damage or deterioration observed on the coated surface.
