Description
Product Introduction:
The national cable industry is vigorously promoting the development of low-smoke, halogen-free cables and materials. Such products all require measurement of cable smoke density. The primary principle behind smoke‑density measurement is that, within a defined chamber, a cable or material generates smoke under specified combustion or radiant‑heat conditions; as a light beam passes through this smoke, it experiences attenuation. By measuring the transmittance of the light beam and calculating the resulting optical density, the smoke density can be determined. The wire and cable smoke‑density tester complies with GB/T 17651.1–2 and EN 1034‑1–2, “Determination of Smoke Density of Cables and Optical Fibers Under Specified Conditions,” and is a testing device used to measure the transmittance of smoke emitted when all insulated metallic‑conductor cables or optical fibers—intended for the transmission of electrical power or signals—are subjected to horizontal flame exposure under defined test conditions.
