Description

Product Introduction

This product complies with the method for recovering asphalt from asphalt mixtures (Abson method) specified in JTG 3410–2025, T0726–2025.

Scope of Use

1. This instrument employs a distillation apparatus to recover asphalt from asphalt mixtures. For asphalt pavements or asphalt mixtures, the material is extracted with a solvent, and the solvent is subsequently removed from the extract, all without altering the properties of the asphalt in the mixture during the process.

2. The asphalt recovered from asphalt pavements or asphalt mixtures using this method can be used to assess the degree of aging of asphalt in petroleum‑based asphalt mixtures, to analyze the causes of pavement distress, and to design the mix proportions for recycled asphalt mixtures, among other applications. Depending on requirements, various physical properties and chemical constituents of the recovered asphalt may be determined.
