Description

Product Introduction:

A sealing tester, also known as a seal integrity tester, seal tester, sealing test machine, seal performance tester, or seal‑integrity detector, is a testing device used to evaluate the sealing performance of packaging. It is primarily employed by manufacturing and processing companies to assess the seal integrity of containers such as bags, bottles, cans, tubes, and boxes in the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries, thereby ensuring that product quality is not compromised by package leakage and extending shelf life. This instrument serves as a sampling‑inspection tool for use on production lines or in laboratories.

It is suitable for negative-pressure sealing and leakage testing, as well as microbial ingress testing, of pharmaceutical glass vials, lyophilization vials, plastic solid‑dose containers, blister packs, aluminum‑plastic soft pouches, syringes, pipettes, vacuum‑sealed bags, canned goods, powdered‑milk pouches, aluminum‑foil pouches, eye‑drop bottles, medical‑device packaging, liquid bags, jelly cups, capped containers, cosmetic bottle pouches, and other packaging materials. It is widely used in industries such as pharmaceutical manufacturers, pharmaceutical packaging material producers, drug‑testing centers, medical‑device companies, food enterprises, and cosmetics firms for seal‑integrity testing.

Reference standard:

Complies with multiple standards, including GB/T 15171 and ASTM D3078.

Test principle:

By evacuating the vacuum chamber, an internal–external pressure differential is established across the specimen immersed in water, allowing observation of gas leakage from within the specimen to assess its sealing performance. Alternatively, by creating a pressure differential through vacuum evacuation, the specimen is subjected to expansion; subsequent recovery of its shape after venting the vacuum is evaluated to determine its sealing integrity.

Product Features:

  1. Precision buttons make operation even simpler.
  2. The vacuum chamber is made of highly transparent acrylic, ensuring robustness and durability.
  3. Automatic constant-pressure gas replenishment ensures that the experimental process is conducted under the preset vacuum.
  4. It employs vacuum components, ensuring stable performance and long-lasting durability.
  5. Pressure-holding time can be set.

Technical Specifications:

Installation Instructions (Wiring and Piping for Systems Using a Vacuum Pump as the Air Source):

Control Panel:

Settings: Enter setup mode;

Start: Enter the test phase;

Stop: Stop the experiment;

Breaking the Void: Manual vacuum breakage completed.

Indicator light:

Run: In the non‑operating state, briefly press the [Start] key to initiate operation; at this point, the [Running] indicator light will illuminate. When the [Vacuum Break] button is pressed or when vacuum breaking is completed, the [Vacuum Break] indicator light will illuminate, and after the pressure reading reaches 0, the vacuum‑break valve will automatically close after a 15‑second delay.

When the vacuum level reaches the set target value, the “Hold Pressure” indicator light illuminates.

  1. Settings:

1. Pressure maintenance:

In the non‑operating state, press and hold the [Stop] button to toggle the pressure‑compensation function. The corresponding pressure‑compensation indicator light will illuminate.

Note: After selecting the “Pressure Holding” function, once the set vacuum level is reached, the system automatically enters pressure-holding mode and starts the pressure-holding countdown. If the vacuum pressure inside the chamber falls below the set value, the equipment will automatically perform a pressure‑boosting cycle.

2: Set the vacuum value, holding time, and enable automatic zeroing upon power-up.

In the off state, press and hold the [Settings] button to enter the settings menu:

Displays the vacuum value set for [VAC] [xxx];

Displays the holding time setting for [tiE];

Press the [Start] key to shift; press the [Stop] key to increment. Press and hold the [Set] key to exit the settings without saving, or press the [Clear] key to save the vacuum value and proceed to the next setting.

Displays [ZEr]; press the [Stop] key to set the value: 0: No zeroing upon power-up; 1: Zeroing upon power-up. Press and hold the [Set] key to exit settings without saving; press the [Vacuum] key to save the vacuum value and proceed to the next setting.

Note: Selecting “Power-On Reset” clears the current vacuum reading upon startup, while selecting “No Reset on Power-On” displays the current vacuum value as the pressure inside the chamber.

Preparation before powering on:

  1. First, connect the sealed container according to the instrument’s interface markings.
  2. Check the vacuum pump oil level.
  3. Fill the sealed container with purified water up to the marked line.
  4. Prepare the test samples.

Test steps:

  1. Connect the power supply and turn on the switch located on the right rear side of the instrument to power up the device.
  2. Place the test product inside the sealed container, then close the lid (ensure the sealing ring is properly aligned and that the water level is not too high).
  3. Set the vacuum level and holding time according to the test requirements.
  4. After completing the settings, press the “Start” button. The instrument will automatically evacuate the chamber; once the vacuum level reaches the set value, it will begin timing. Upon reaching the hold‑pressure duration, the instrument will automatically vent the chamber (or allow manual venting), and the test will be completed.
  5. After the instrument’s vacuum reading has been reset to zero, open the chamber lid and remove the test sample.

Note 1: It is recommended to use distilled water or colorless, impurity-free tap water. After the specimen is immersed in water, the distance between its upper surface and the water level shall be no less than 25 mm. Ensure that all parts of the specimen can be observed for leakage during the test; one or multiple specimens may be tested at a time.

Note 2: During the vacuum‑evacuation and pressure‑holding phases, carefully observe the specimen for any signs of leakage by checking for the presence of continuous bubbles; isolated, single bubbles are generally not considered evidence of leakage. Alternatively, after the test is completed, remove the specimen, open it, and inspect it: if no water has penetrated, the specimen is deemed合格; otherwise, it is不合格.
