Product Introduction
Chloride ions are a key factor in triggering steel reinforcement corrosion. To prevent premature corrosion, the chloride ion content in concrete raw materials is subject to stringent control. Certain Chinese standards explicitly require that, when selecting and mixing sand, aggregates, cement, admixtures, and mixing water, the chloride ion content must be tested to fundamentally prevent excessive chloride ions from entering the concrete. Our company’s rapid chloride ion analyzer is a laboratory‑based electrochemical instrument designed to measure the chloride ion concentration in fresh concrete. It employs a chloride ion‑selective electrode as the indicator electrode, paired with an appropriate reference electrode; both are immersed in the sample solution to form the electrochemical measurement system.

Scope of application: Laboratory determination of chloride ion content to control and prevent premature corrosion of reinforcing steel; rapid measurement of water-soluble chloride ion content in inorganic materials such as concrete, aggregates, and cement; and, in conjunction with the chloride ion diffusion coefficient in concrete, prediction of concrete structural service life and the service life of reinforcing steel.
Features and Benefits
The chloride ion content rapid analyzer employs the ion-selective electrode (ISE) method. An ion-selective electrode is an electrochemical sensor featuring a sensitive membrane that exhibits selective response to a specific ion, converting ion activity into an electrical potential. Within a certain range, the electrode potential varies linearly with the logarithm of the target ion’s activity in solution. By comparing the measured potential with that of solutions of known ion concentrations, the ion activity in an unknown sample can be determined. This instrument enables rapid determination of chloride ion content in water‑soluble materials such as concrete, aggregates, and admixtures, providing direct outputs in molar concentration and mass percentage. It also includes a built-in temperature compensation algorithm.
