The pendulum friction coefficient tester (hereafter referred to as the pendulum tester) is an instrument used to measure the friction coefficients of pavements, airport runways, pavement markings, and similar surfaces. It can also serve, through the determination of typical pavement friction coefficients, as one of the bases for formulating tire compounds. This instrument is easy to calibrate and simple to operate; it has minimal impact on traffic during testing, yields relatively stable data, and can be used both indoors and outdoors.

JJG (Transportation) 053-2017 Verification Procedure for Pendulum Testers, JT/T 763-2017 Industry Standard for Pendulum Testers, JTG 3450-2019 Test Procedures for Subgrades and Pavements, JTG 3432-2024 Test Procedures for Aggregates in Highway Engineering—national mandatory industry standards—and GB/T 16311-2024 Quality Requirements and Test Methods for Road Traffic Markings, among others.

Product Features:

1.5-inch touchscreen display with adjustable brightness settings;

2. Features selectable testing functions for the anti-slip value (BPN) and the polishing value (PSV).

3. Measurement accuracy of 0.01, automatic generation of average values, and validation of test data; ultra-large data storage with categorized retrieval.

4. Data export via the Type-C port;

5. Real-time angle display, meeting the new standard’s requirement of 1.9° ± 0.2°.

6. The battery uses a polymer lithium‑ion cell (blade‑type battery): equipped with a high‑capacity smart IC protection board, supports cyclic charging, is explosion‑proof and durable, and offers a standby time of over 30 hours.
