This instrument is designed and manufactured in accordance with JTJ 059‑95, “Field Test Procedures for Highway Subgrades and Pavements,” and is suitable for determining the in‑situ CBR values of various subgrade materials on highway construction sites. It can also be used to directly measure the resilient modulus of subgrade soils, as well as that of full‑depth pavement layers (0.8–1.0 m thick) and pavement structural layer materials.

Apart from ring stiffness, ring flexibility and flattening tests, it supports continuous long-term creep tests up to 1000 hours (42 days) as required by industry specifications, widely used for pipe factories and construction quality inspection institutes.
