Uses and Overview

It is used to determine the shrinkage limit moisture content, linear shrinkage ratio, volumetric shrinkage, and shrinkage coefficient of clay during the drying process. This instrument complies with SL 237 “Geotechnical Test Procedures,” JTG E40 “Highway Geotechnical Test Procedures,” and TB10102 “Railway Engineering Geotechnical Test Procedures.”

Apart from ring stiffness, ring flexibility and flattening tests, it supports continuous long-term creep tests up to 1000 hours (42 days) as required by industry specifications, widely used for pipe factories and construction quality inspection institutes.
