Product Introduction

The (electric) Casagrande liquid limit test involves dividing the soil paste in a metal dish into two halves with a knife and dropping the dish from a height of 10 mm at a rate of twice per second. When 25 blows have been applied, the distance between the two halves of the soil paste at the bottom of the dish just reaches 13 mm; the moisture content at this point is defined as the liquid limit.

When the number of blows reaches 25, the combined length of the two halves of the soil paste at the bottom of the dish just attains 13 mm; at this point, the moisture content corresponds to the liquid limit.
