Product Introduction:

It can rapidly assess the dry and wet abrasion resistance of flexible materials such as textiles, paper, leather, and plastics.

Principle of the test:

A free textile specimen, driven by the impeller rotor, follows a zigzag path along a circular track, thereby undergoing continuous, rapid impacts from both the friction pad and the wall of the test cylinder. During the test, the specimen is subjected to bending, friction, impact, compression, tension, and other forces. Consequently, wear of the specimen arises from the mutual frictional interactions among yarns, between fibers, and between the specimen surface and the friction pad.

The abrasion resistance of the specimen is then evaluated based on the weight loss before and after friction, or on the loss in breaking strength measured by the grab‑sample method (with fracture occurring at the kink).
