Description
Product Introduction
This testing apparatus, in accordance with the requirements of JTG 3460-2026 “Test Procedures for Geosynthetics in Highway Engineering,” simulates degradation caused by solar ultraviolet radiation. By exposing the test material to controlled high‑temperature illumination, it conducts weathering tests. The system uses UV lamps to replicate the effects of solar radiation and employs condensation and water spraying to mimic dew and rain. In just a few days or weeks, the UV irradiation equipment can reproduce damage that would typically take months or even years to occur outdoors—such as fading, color change, loss of gloss, chalking, cracking, crazing, wrinkling, blistering, embrittlement, reduced strength, and oxidation. The test results can be used to select new materials, improve existing ones, or evaluate changes in material formulations.
Reference standard:
The technical content of “Plastics — Laboratory Exposure to Light Sources — Part 3: Fluorescent UV Lamps” (GB/T 16422.3-2022), “Geosynthetics — Test Method for Resistance to UV‑Induced Aging — Fluorescent UV Lamp Method” (GB/T 46539-2025), and “Plastics — Methods of Exposure to Laboratory Light Sources — Part 3: Fluorescent UV Lamps” (ISO 4892‑3:2016). Some of the data are referenced from the U.S. standards “Standard Practice for Fluorescent UV‑Aaging of Nonmetallic Materials” (ASTM G154‑23), “Test Method for Evaluating the Effects of Exposure on Unreinforced Polyolefin Geomembranes Using a Fluorescent UV‑Condensation Apparatus” (ASTM D7238‑20), and “Textiles — Weathering Tests — Exposure to Ultraviolet Radiation” (GB/T 31899‑2015).
Complies with international testing standards, including ASTM D4329, ISO 4892‑3, ISO 11507, SAE J2020, and other current UV aging test standards. Other standards are not exhaustively listed; please contact our technical department for confirmation if needed.
