Description
Product Introduction:
The RP-930E Raised Road Marker Abrasion Resistance Tester is specifically designed and manufactured for use by manufacturers, quality‑control agencies, construction firms, and supervisory bodies to assess the abrasion resistance of raised road markers. It features a well‑thought‑out design, simple operation, broad applicability, high measurement accuracy, and excellent safety and reliability.
Instrument Composition
The testing apparatus consists of a vertical sand‑guiding tube, a calibration funnel, a filter screen, a sample holder, and a sand collector.
Technical Specifications:
1. It may be constructed from solid-wall plastic pipes with an inner diameter of not less than 150 mm and smooth inner walls, each 2,850 mm in length; the deviation of the sand‑guiding pipe from vertical shall not exceed 0.2°.
2. Calibration Funnel: The upper opening of the calibration funnel measures 120 mm × 40 mm, with a height of 100 mm and four sloping sides inclined at 45°. The edges of the upper opening shall be straight and sharp to ensure that sand falling onto the rim enters the funnel without changing direction. The funnel’s purpose is to ensure that sand entering directly through the opening strikes the raised road marker as vertically as possible, while sand falling outside the opening is deflected away from the funnel and cannot impact the marker. The calibration funnel must be capable of vertical, horizontal, and longitudinal adjustment to facilitate fine-tuning of both the quantity and uniformity of sand passing through it.
3. Filter Screen: The filter screen is located at the upper portion of the sand‑guiding pipe and features standard mesh openings larger than 850 μm. Its functions are twofold: first, to establish the initial point of sand discharge; second, to limit the flow velocity of the discharged sand. The distance between the falling sand and the screen must not exceed 30 mm.
4. Sample holder: Used to securely clamp the test sample, ensuring that the sample’s base remains vertical and facilitating precise alignment of the sample with the sand‑guiding tube and the calibration funnel. It allows free adjustment of the sample’s height so that its upper edge is no more than 150 mm below the funnel’s opening, and enables horizontal adjustment to ensure that the lower edge of the sample’s retroreflective surface is parallel to the long side of the funnel. The sample holder shall not obstruct the free flow of falling sand.
5. Collector: A 400 mm × 600 mm enameled tray or other suitable container may be used to collect sand that spills outside the calibration funnel.
