Product Introduction:
Rock blocks were collected. In this test, the point‑load test was conducted by placing a rock specimen between two spherical conical platens and applying a concentrated load until failure; the point‑load strength of the rock was then determined from the failure load. The point‑load strength can serve as an index for classifying rock strength and for assessing the degree of weathering in rock masses; it can also be used to evaluate the anisotropy of rock strength and to estimate other related strength parameters, such as uniaxial compressive strength and tensile strength.
The point-load strength test is applicable to all types of regular or irregular rocks, and may be conducted on core samples from drill holes or on in-situ point‑load strengths measured directly from rock outcrops, exploration pits, adits, and tunnels.
