This design improves system reliability, stabilizes performance across all functions, and ensures greater operational consistency. The device features a single‑CPU architecture that handles display, printing, computation, communication, and data acquisition. Data is sampled using an interrupt‑driven approach, enabling continuous measurement without interruption. It also automatically calculates distance; with a sampling interval of 0.1 meters and a memory capacity sufficient to store 1,000 measurement points, it can perform uninterrupted measurements over a range of up to 25 kilometers.

Product Introduction:

The LBTP‑5 pavement smoothness meter was developed by retaining the original instrument’s strengths while incorporating user feedback. In terms of electronic technology, it employs China’s most advanced microprocessor and large-scale integrated circuit technologies, enhancing overall system integration and reducing the number of unnecessary connectors and interfaces found in earlier models. This design improves system reliability, stabilizes performance across all functions, and ensures greater operational consistency. The device features a single‑CPU architecture that handles display, printing, computation, communication, and data acquisition. Data is sampled using an interrupt‑driven approach, enabling continuous measurement without interruption. It also automatically calculates distance; with a sampling interval of 0.1 meters and a memory capacity sufficient to store 1,000 measurement points, it can perform continuous measurements over a range of up to 25 kilometers.

Main Technical Functions

(1) Functionality and Accuracy

1. It can automatically measure, compute, and print the root-mean-square error. Sampling intervals of 0.05 m and 0.1 m are available, with a sampling error of 0.04 mm; under identical conditions, repeated tests yield a statistical deviation of less than 0.2 mm.

2. With manual data entry, the system can automatically print the test date (year/month/day) and the tested road segment number (road number, chainage, sampling point, and out-of-tolerance status). Each time a print is generated, the summary sequence number increments by one.

3. Automatically calculate and print the individual cumulative value H (in mm) for the measured section.

4. Automatically detects, calculates, and prints the measured segment length L (in meters), with an error of less than 1%.

5. Automatically measures, calculates, and prints the positive and negative exceedance values (K+ and K−). The exceedance criteria can be set independently according to pavement grade requirements, with limits ranging from 1 to 15 mm.

6. It can automatically measure, calculate, and print the test speed value V (unit: km/h).

(II) Traction Method and Testing Speed

Powered by passenger‑carrying human force or motorized traction, with a minimum turning radius of 3 m, the test speed shall not exceed 12 km/h; under non‑test conditions (with the frame shortened and the measuring wheels lifted), the towing speed is 25 km/h.
