Product Introduction:

This method is applicable for determining the presence of expansive clay minerals in fine aggregates and for quantifying their content, thereby assessing the cleanliness of the aggregate, as expressed by the methylene blue value (MBV).

This method is applicable to fine aggregates with particle sizes less than 2.36 mm or less than 0.15 mm, and may also be used for the quality inspection of mineral fines. When the percentage of material passing the 0.075‑mm sieve in the fine aggregate is less than 3%, this test need not be performed, and the material may be deemed acceptable.
