Product Introduction

This product is suitable for preparing coating films on glass, steel, aluminum, wood, and plastic substrates. The preparation of coating films constitutes the initial step in conducting various film‑testing procedures. Different coatings require films of varying thicknesses, and ensuring consistent film thickness between test specimens and reference samples is a prerequisite for accurate testing, whether performed on wet or dry films. To this end, a precision‑machined film applicator enables arbitrary selection of film thickness while eliminating human‑induced errors. By carrying out wet‑and‑dry film tests under identical conditions, optimal results can be achieved, thereby enhancing product performance and quality.

Technical Specifications:

By adjusting the two micrometers mounted above the applicator, the lower doctor blade can be positioned vertically to control the gap—and thus the final coating thickness. Thanks to the use of high‑precision micrometers, the coating thickness is adjustable over a range of 0 to 3,500 µm, with the blade gap fine‑tuned in increments of 10 µm during application. This applicator is ideally suited for research projects that require precise evaluation of subtle differences in film thickness.
