Product Introduction
Rotational viscometers are typically used to measure the viscosity—also referred to as apparent viscosity—of Newtonian or non-Newtonian fluids at specific rotational speeds and with particular rotors. In industries dealing with polymeric materials such as coatings, inks, and adhesives, nearly all resins, emulsions, and finished products exhibit non-Newtonian behavior, displaying distinct rheological properties under varying shear rates (which depend on rotor speed and geometry). To compare the rheological characteristics of different materials, a widely adopted approach is to assess their thixotropy or dilution index: this involves quantifying the ratio of viscosity changes measured after increasing or decreasing the rotor speed to characterize the degree of shear‑thinning, or comparing the viscosity before and after exposure to high shear to evaluate the extent of thixotropy.
Based on the rheological properties of different materials, Rheo‑Garda offers several models of rheometers. Testers can configure customized test protocols—such as automatically varying the shear rate—and, when used in conjunction with specialized software, gain a comprehensive understanding and analysis of a material’s rheological behavior, including simulations of its flow characteristics under various application conditions.
◆ Complies with standards including GB/T 10247, GB/T 11175, GB/T 22235, ISO 1652, ISO 2555, ISO 3219, ASTM D2196, and ASTM D2983.
◆ 7-inch HD touchscreen, easy to operate, with clearer and richer display information;
◆ Equipped with a high‑resolution stepper motor drive, it offers stepless speed control, precise and stable rotation with zero noise, and its viscosity measurement accuracy remains unaffected by fluctuations in AC voltage frequency.
◆ Built-in high-precision electronic level; the screen directly displays the instrument’s leveling status, enabling operators to quickly and easily adjust the instrument to a horizontal position.
◆ Magnetic‑suction rotor removal and installation method reduces damage to the journal during disassembly, enhancing its durability.
◆ Durable, all-new compact shaft design
◆ Switch-mode power adapter with a wide input voltage range and excellent EMI suppression.
◆ Employs a high-precision encoder to enable real-time sampling, allowing measurement results to be displayed at any moment and eliminating the need to wait even during low-speed measurements.
◆ Programmable testing: the instrument supports timed measurements, programmed variable-speed measurements, and programmed temperature measurements (with an optional small-sample adapter equipped with temperature control).
◆ Equipped with the capability to display viscosity–time, viscosity–shear rate, and viscosity–temperature curves (with an optional small-sample adapter featuring temperature control), allowing you to readily observe how the sample’s viscosity varies with each parameter during testing.
◆ The viscosity value is displayed as a continuous reading, and an audible alarm sounds when the measurement exceeds the range.
◆ Arbitrary conversion among multiple viscosity units; automatic conversion between dynamic and kinematic viscosity.
◆ Prior to shipment, the instrument undergoes full‑range linear calibration by computer, and users can perform independent self‑calibration.
◆ Optional rheometer control and data analysis software enables instrument operation and test data analysis via computer, facilitating comparison of the rheological properties of samples.
