Description
Product Introduction:
The smoke toxicity testing apparatus is a test device used to determine the toxicity class of smoke generated during material combustion. It employs a constant‑velocity carrier gas flow and a ring‑type furnace with stable heat supply to perform uniform‑speed, moving‑scan heating on samples of consistent mass. Under conditions of sufficient smoke generation, a toxicological exposure test is conducted to classify the material’s smoke toxicity hazard level.
Equipment composition:
1. Annular furnace: It consists of the furnace body, furnace tube, and furnace shell with electric heating elements; the inner wall of the annular furnace tube serves as the heat‑transfer surface.
2. Quartz Tubes and Quartz Boats: The quartz tubes and boats are made of quartz glass. The nominal diameter of the quartz tube is (36 ± 1) mm, with a wall thickness of (47 ± 1) mm and a length of 1000 mm.
3. Flue gas sampling assembly: composed of a three-way rotary valve, a dilution gas inlet pipe, and a distribution elbow.
4. Mouse rotarod: Made of aluminum, with a mass conforming to the standard ±10 g; the rotarod rotates freely on its support.
5. Toxicity chamber: Constructed from transparent, colorless acrylic, the chamber has an effective internal volume of approximately 9.2 L and can accommodate up to 10 mice for toxicity testing.
6. Temperature control system.
Product Features:
1. Microcomputer control and computer operation;
2. Annular furnace heating temperature calibration: Displays time, temperature curves, and a comparison chart of measured versus set temperatures; after setting the material’s smoke concentration and smoke generation rate, it automatically calculates and shows in real time a rotational speed graph of the rotor cage; the annular furnace’s operating time can be set arbitrarily, and it features manual and automatic fast‑forward and reverse functions.
3. Quartz tubes and quartz boats, crafted from fused quartz glass, feature an elegant appearance and are both convenient and practical.
4. Flue gas sampling and distribution assembly. A large-diameter three-way ball valve ensures unobstructed flue gas flow.
5. Mouse rotarod and mouse locomotion recording system: a specially designed rotarod that is lightweight, rotates smoothly, and has no fixed stationary point; equipped with a high-precision speed-measurement device to ensure experimental accuracy.
6. The metal frame and acrylic components of the exposure chamber are robust and durable, ensuring convenient observation.
7. Air supply system: the air‑supply unit employs a high‑power air pump to ensure stable airflow, while the flow‑rate control is provided by a glass rotor flowmeter, offering cost‑effectiveness, ease of operation, and convenient experimental preparation.
