Description
Product Introduction:
The LBT‑60A “Welded (Low‑Pressure Fluid) Steel Pipe Bending Tester” is a specialized device for conducting planar bending tests on metallic steel pipes. Developed in accordance with GB/T 244‑2020 and ISO 8491:1998, “Metallic Materials — Pipe — Method of Bend Test,” this equipment is suitable for the bending test procedures specified in standards such as GB/T 13793‑2016 “Electric‑Resistance Welded Straight‑Seam Steel Pipes,” GB/T 3091‑2015 “Welded Steel Pipes for Low‑Pressure Fluid Transport,” and GB/T 8162‑2018 “Seamless Steel Pipes for Structural Applications.” In particular, the bending test for steel pipes outlined in Clause 5.5 of GB/T 3091‑2015—“Welded Steel Pipes for Low‑Pressure Fluid Transport” (for welded pipes with an outer diameter not exceeding 60.3 mm, i.e., ≤Φ60.3 mm)—has long been difficult to perform efficiently and in compliance with standard requirements. To address this challenge, technical experts, together with specialists from relevant fields and testing institutions, successfully developed a dedicated bending tester for welded (low‑pressure fluid) steel pipes. This machine enables efficient execution of the bending test specified in Clause 5.5.1 of GB/T 3091‑2015—“Process Performance: Steel Pipe Bending Test.” Widely employed by testing laboratories, steel pipe manufacturers, and pipeline companies, this product is used to evaluate the bending performance of metallic pipes. The GGW‑60 model welded (low‑pressure fluid) steel pipe bending tester is based on the GW‑40 rebar bending tester. For specimens of different nominal diameters, users simply replace the corresponding bending mandrel sleeve, adjust the bending radius, and swap out the rollers. With reliable accuracy, ease of operation, and a long service life, it stands as the most advanced welded (low‑pressure fluid) steel pipe bending tester currently available.

Structural Overview:
This steel pipe bending testing machine consists of the following components:
1. Frame; 2. Worktable; 3. Rotating work arm; 4. Clamping device; 5. Harmonic drive reducer (including brake motor); 6. Electrical components; 7. Accessories
Installation:
Install on a stable foundation, with a levelness error not exceeding 0.5/1000.
The yellow-green wire of the power supply is the neutral conductor; a three-phase five-wire system should be used (with black as the neutral). The power supply is 50 Hz, 380 V. After connecting the power, briefly press the forward‑bend button to verify that the rotation direction is correct before proceeding with normal operation. If the direction is reversed, simply swap any two of the live wires.
Instructions for use:
Startup: Close the main power switch of the device, press the power button to energize the unit, and the power indicator will illuminate. The device will enter standby mode, allowing you to configure parameters and control operation via the buttons.
Positive Bend Setting: Press and hold the “+/Positive Bend” key for approximately 2 seconds, then release. The device will enter the positive bend setting mode, with the units digit of the positive bend setting LED flashing. Press “+/Positive Bend” to increase the angle, or press “—/Negative Bend” to decrease it. Once the units digit is set, press the “Shift” key to make the tens digit of the positive bend setting LED flash; use the same procedure to set the hundreds digit. If no keyboard input is detected for more than 5 seconds, the setting mode will exit and the system will save the configured values.
Manual Positive Bend: After pressing the “Manual Positive Bend” button, the equipment will perform a positive bend operation; releasing the button will stop the positive bend.
Manual Reverse Bending: After pressing the “Manual Reverse Bending” button, the equipment will perform a reverse-bending cycle; releasing the button will stop the reverse-bending operation.
Automatic Positive Bending: After pressing the “Automatic Positive Bending” button, the equipment will perform automatic positive bending. It will continue until the set positive bending angle is reached or the limit position is attained, at which point the machine will stop the positive bending operation.
After the test is completed, press the Return key, and the device will automatically return to the starting position.
Stop and Reset: Press the “Stop/Reset” button. If the machine is running in “Automatic Positive Bending” mode, it will stop automatically and simultaneously reset the angle to zero. At the start of each test cycle, this button should be pressed to reset the system.
Emergency Stop: In the event of a device malfunction or an emergency, pressing the “Emergency Stop” button will disconnect the control circuit power, bringing the system to an immediate halt. This function is intended for emergency use only and should not be used for routine shutdowns.
Stop: After the test is completed, press the power switch until the power indicator light goes off, then switch off the main power supply to the equipment. The test is now finished.
Operation:
Prior to the test, the angular setpoint is first configured according to the test requirements; at this stage, the system has completed all preparatory settings.
1. Automatic Positive Bending Test
As shown in Figure 1, secure the work roll and the bending mandrel on the work plate. Press the “Jog Reverse Bend” button to rotate the working arm in the reverse direction back to its initial position, then insert the steel pipe. The clamping device will hold the specimen firmly in place. Next, press the “Jog Forward Bend” button to bring the forward‑rotating work roll into close proximity with the specimen, and then click the “Auto Forward Bend” button. The testing machine will automatically perform a forward (clockwise) bend while displaying the current bending angle in real time. When the preset angle is reached, the machine will stop automatically.
