It is used to verify the basic parameters and dimensions of plugs and sockets.

The AS/NZS 3112 standard specifies the basic safety requirements for Australian plugs and sockets intended for household and similar applications, with rated currents not exceeding 32 A, operating at extra-low or low voltages.
