Description

Product Introduction:

The JRJ300‑S digital display high-speed shear emulsifying mixer features a novel design and advanced manufacturing technology, offering shear‑mixing and emulsification capabilities. Its uniquely designed stirring head and distinctive functionality address challenges that conventional mixers cannot solve. Widely used in factories, research institutions, universities, and medical facilities for the pulverization, emulsification, and mixing of liquid materials in laboratory settings, it is an ideal piece of equipment for product development, quality control, and production processes across fields such as biotechnology, physicochemical sciences, cosmetics, health supplements, and food processing.

The rotor of this machine’s stirring head, driven at high speed by an electric motor, achieves a high peripheral velocity. Coupled with the precision‑engineered rotor and stator, it generates powerful hydrodynamic shear and intense mechanical effects under substantial centrifugal forces, subjecting the experimental fluid to tens of thousands of shear, tear, and mixing cycles per minute, thereby achieving effective shear‑based emulsification.

This unit is designed for conducting experiments with viscous materials in a vessel. The rotor draws the medium from the bottom of the container into the stirring head, where it undergoes vigorous mixing within the rotor zone and is then expelled through the stator ports by centrifugal force. The stator can modulate the flow rate, preventing excessive recirculation of the medium, and its interchangeable, compact design accommodates a wide range of experimental requirements, covering an extensive array of applications—including grinding, emulsification, homogenization, polymerization, suspension, dissolution, and stirring.

Basic structure:

For details of the main components, please refer to “Main Components of the Laboratory High-Shear Emulsifier” on page 2 of this instruction manual.

  1. Motor
  2. Speed controller, mounted on the motor, with stepless speed regulation.
  3. The stirring head consists of a stirring head cover, a stator, and a rotor. The stirring head cover and the stator head can be easily removed, and two types of stators are interchangeable.
  4. Lifting and lowering bracket, allowing convenient adjustment of the stirring head’s working height.
  5. Base

Installation:

Place the machine’s base on the platform, first tightening the two matching long support columns and securing them to the base. Then, attach a short threaded post and fasten it to the motor. Referencing the illustrations in the manual, slide the lifting bracket onto the support rod already fixed to the base, adjust it to an appropriate height, and secure the lifting bracket firmly. Loosen the adjustment knob at the fixed end of the lifting bracket’s support rod to allow the motor to be raised or lowered to different heights. Following the photos in the manual, mount the motor and the connecting rod’s fixed end onto the lifting bracket, and tighten them securely. By loosening the adjustment knob at the motor‑mounting end of the lifting bracket, you can freely adjust the motor’s angle forward or backward. To minimize bearing wear, operate the machine with the base positioned perpendicular to the work surface whenever possible. To ensure smooth operation, securely fasten all connection points.

Usage and Maintenance:

  1. This unit operates on a single‑phase, three‑wire system and requires a 220 V, 10 A three‑prong outlet; the outlet must be properly grounded. Be sure to connect only one grounding wire—never tap the ground conductor to electrical appliances, water pipes, gas lines, or lightning rods.
  2. Before connecting the power, carefully verify that the power switch on the speed control box is off and that the speed‑adjustment handwheel is in its initial position. This precaution prevents the unit from suddenly starting up upon power application; instead, slowly turn the handwheel clockwise to initiate motor start-up, continuing until the desired experimental speed is reached.
  3. The machine’s shear‑emulsification‑stirring tool must never be operated without being immersed in the liquid medium, to prevent high‑speed operation from damaging the bearings and causing mechanical failure.
  4. The working‑head stator installed on this unit should be selected according to the experimental requirements. For mixing and emulsifying low‑viscosity liquids and for pulverizing and dissolving small particles, a stator with a small aperture (5 mm) should be used. For mixing and emulsifying medium‑viscosity liquids and for pulverizing and dissolving large particles, a stator with a medium aperture (20 mm) is recommended. For mixing and emulsifying high‑viscosity liquids and for pulverizing and dissolving large particles, please use a long‑aperture stator head (50 mm).
  5. Stator replacement procedure: First, use a wrench to unscrew the three M5 nuts, remove the outer stator retaining ring, and take out the mismatched stator. Next, fit the correct stator onto the locating step, then reinstall the outer stator retaining ring. Tighten the three M5 nuts evenly and gradually, and manually rotate the rotor shaft; there should be no periodic looseness or tightness.
  6. After completing operation, return the speed control knob on the speed controller to its initial position, turn off the power switch to disconnect the power supply, and unplug the power cord. Also, promptly clean all components of the stirring head to ensure smooth use next time.
  7. After prolonged use and extended periods of inactivity, this equipment should undergo a maintenance inspection prior to operation, with particular attention to electrical safety. An insulation resistance test can be performed using a megohmmeter.
  8. The brush on the electrode is a wear part and should be inspected regularly. During inspection, disconnect the power, unplug the device, unscrew the brush cover, and remove the brushes. If the brushes are found to be shorter than 6 mm, they must be replaced promptly. Use replacement brushes of the original specification, ensuring they move freely within the brush holder sleeve to prevent jamming, which could lead to excessive sparking or motor failure.

9. When operating this unit, if the motor fails to run, first check that the power outlet is supplying power, that all connectors are securely fastened, that the brushes make good contact, and that the rotor and stator of the stirring head are not jammed. If the problem persists after addressing these issues, have the equipment serviced by qualified personnel or contact the manufacturer. Do not attempt to disassemble or reassemble the unit yourself, especially if you are unfamiliar with its operation, to avoid potential accidents.
