Test Procedure Description

1. Specimen preparation: Cut the PP membrane into standard 106 mm specimens, notch a 10 × 4 mm U‑shaped opening and secure it. Apply a waterproof coating 1.5–2.2 mm thick to the opposite side, cure and dry according to the specified procedure, then cut a standard 5 mm‑long crack.

2. Equipment Installation: Mount the test specimen between the horizontal end pressure plate and the connecting pipe, with the coated surface facing the water. After tightening, seal the joint with sealant; at the vertical end of the connecting pipe, install a pressure plate equipped with a glass tube and seal it as well.

3. Test Procedure: Fill the glass tube with clean water at 23°C, maintaining the water level at the specified height for the specimen. Observe the crack‑induced water seepage in real time and record the duration from the onset of seepage to its cessation.

4. Result Evaluation: After the test is completed, the specimen shall be conditioned under standard conditions for 24 hours, and the closure of any cracks shall be observed. Based on the time at which water penetration ceases, the self‑healing performance shall be evaluated.
