Product Introduction:
The LBT-305A cement raw material grindability test ball mill was developed in accordance with GB/T 26567, “Test Method for Grindability of Cement Raw Materials (Bond Method).” It is specifically designed for use in cement plant laboratories to determine the grindability of cement raw materials and can also be employed to grind other materials.

Structural Overview:
It consists of four major components: the housing, the mill, the support base, and the electrical control cabinet.
1. Housing: The housing consists of two layers of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic sandwiched around sound-absorbing cotton. It is divided into upper and lower sections; the upper housing is equipped with a door, while the lower housing features a material hopper for collecting ground material. The housing is sealed to the mill shaft by end caps fitted with felt rings, ensuring excellent sound insulation and dust‑tight sealing.
2. Mill: The mill consists of a cylindrical shell, a grinding‑door cover, bearings, a coupling, and a gear reducer. It forms the main body for grinding materials; during discharge, the grinding door is replaced with a grate‑type discharge plate to meet discharge requirements.
3. Base Frame: The base frame is a steel structure comprising the mill and the electric motor, designed to support the housing, the mill, the geared motor, and the electrical control cabinet. The bottom of the mill base is equipped with four M20 anchor bolt holes for securing the entire equipment assembly.
4. Electrical Control Box: Composed of pushbuttons, combination switches, thermal relays, time relays, and other components. The grinding time is preset at the factory to 30 minutes; users may also adjust it freely according to the desired fineness of the material. The mill door may be opened only after the mill has come to a complete stop. If the mill door is not aligned with the housing door, use the jog switch to manually align them.
Installation and Commissioning:
1. After unpacking the test mill, thoroughly wipe the exterior of the entire unit clean. Carefully inspect the gear‑reduction motor, mill, housing, bearing housings, and other components to ensure no damage occurred during transport and that all fasteners are securely tightened. When lifting the equipment, attach the slings to the base; do not secure them to the housing, shaft, or motor to avoid damaging these parts.
2. During installation, first clean any oil or debris from the bearing baseplate, and ensure that the cement foundation surface is smooth and level before placing the bearing.
After leveling, secure the equipment with anchor bolts (steel shims may be used for alignment).
3. Before commissioning, inspect the mill and its housing; if any parts are rubbing against each other, adjust them to eliminate contact. Verify that the mill door cover is securely closed and free of looseness. Check the lubrication of the bearing housings and the reduction motor; if no lubricant is present, add oil until it reaches the indicated level on the sight glass.
4. Manually rotate the mill for more than one full revolution, and inspect it for any abnormal conditions such as collisions or sluggish operation.
5. Power on and perform a trial run: the mill shall rotate in the clockwise direction (when standing in front of the test mill, viewed from left to right). After starting, if the rotation direction does not match the specified requirement, disconnect the power supply; once the motor has come to a complete stop, interchange any two of the power‑supply leads, then restart. The test mill may only be gradually loaded after it has demonstrated satisfactory operation under no‑load conditions.
Instructions:
1. Weigh the raw materials, gypsum, or other materials to be ground.
2. Prior to entering the mill, the material is thoroughly crushed to ensure that the feed particle size is less than 7 mm.
3. Thoroughly remove any residual material from the grinding chamber, then load in the crushed material.
4. Close the grinding door tightly, tighten the compression nut, ensuring that the door is properly aligned and free of gaps, then close the housing door.
5. Adjust the grinding time as needed; do not make adjustments while the equipment is running.
6. Start up and grind.
7. When sampling to determine the fineness or specific surface area of the material during grinding, stop the mill and wait 2–3 minutes for the powder to settle before opening the mill door to take a sample. If the mill door is not aligned with the housing door, use the jog switch to adjust it.
8. When the grinding reaches the prescribed time, the mill shall automatically stop. After stopping, replace the grate plate and restart the mill to discharge the material until it is completely emptied.
9. Allow approximately 5 minutes to elapse, then remove the material hopper and extract the ground material.
10. If the material to be ground has specific requirements, prior to grinding, place dry slag or sand into the mill cylinder and grind for 5 minutes to remove any material adhering to the steel balls.
Maintenance and Care:
1. Regularly clean dust from the exterior surface of the mill and the inner surface of the housing.
2. Regularly inspect all fasteners; if any are loose, tighten them promptly.
3. Regularly inspect the lubrication system: replace the reducer lubricant (No. 40 machine oil) every three months, and renew the bearing grease (calcium-based or calcium-sodium-based grease) every six months.
4. During operation, regularly monitor for any abnormal noises or impact sounds, and check whether the gear reduction motor and bearings exhibit excessive temperature rise, smoking, or unusual odors. If any of these conditions are detected, immediately disconnect the power supply, identify the cause, and resume operation only after the fault has been rectified.
5. Regularly inspect the sealing gaskets and the sealing rings on the mill lid, and replace any damaged components promptly.
6. The control cabinet shall be kept dry, with regular checks of power‑supply contacts and reliable grounding.
