Product Introduction:
This instrument is a controller that integrates both automatic and manual operation, used for determining the free calcium oxide content in cement. Its design and parameters comply with the requirements of the standard GB/T 176-2017. Users may select the appropriate method according to their needs: “Determination of Free Calcium Oxide—Glycerol Method (Alternative Method)” or “Determination of Free Calcium Oxide—Ethylene Glycol Method (Alternative Method).”
Determine the sample using any one of the following test methods: “Determination of Free Calcium Oxide—Ethylene Glycol Extraction—EDTA Titration (Alternative Method).”
Summary of the test method:
1) Determination of Free Calcium Oxide—Glycerin Method (Alternative Method)
Under heating and stirring, using strontium nitrate as a catalyst, the free calcium oxide in the sample reacts with glycerol to form weakly alkaline calcium glycerolate. Phenolphthalein is used as an indicator, and the solution is titrated with a standard benzoic acid–anhydrous ethanol titrant.
2) Determination of Free Calcium Oxide—Ethylene Glycol Method (Alternative Method)
Under heating and stirring, the free calcium oxide in the sample reacts with ethylene glycol to form weakly alkaline calcium ethylene glycolate. Using phenolphthalein as an indicator, the solution is titrated with a standard benzoic acid–anhydrous ethanol titrant.
3) Determination of Free Calcium Oxide—Ethylene Glycol Extraction—EDTA Titration Method (Alternative Method)
Under heated stirring, the free calcium oxide in the sample reacts with ethylene glycol to form weakly alkaline calcium ethylene glycolate. After filtration, in a strongly alkaline solution with a pH above 13, and using triethanolamine as a masking agent, titration is performed with an EDTA standard titrant, employing a mixed indicator of calcein–methylthymol blue–phenolphthalein.
