It is also commonly used for preparing thin-section specimens. The instrument employs gravity‑driven feed via weight blocks for straight‑cutting, with automatic stop upon completion. A micrometer adjustment mechanism allows precise control of specimen thickness. Equipped with a touch‑screen interface, it offers clear, user‑friendly operation and controllable grinding‑wheel speed. To prevent overheating and thermal damage during cutting, the device features a removable coolant reservoir; as the diamond cutting wheel rotates, it carries coolant to cool both the wheel and the sample, yielding polished, smooth, and burn‑free surfaces.
