Rough grinding aims to produce a relatively flat surface and is usually carried out on a grinding wheel machine; however, deep scratches still remain on the specimen’s surface. Fine grinding, on the other hand, seeks to eliminate these scratches, yielding a smooth, even ground surface that is well‑suited for subsequent polishing. The M‑1 metallographic specimen pre‑grinding machine is designed for fine grinding and features an integral blow‑molded housing with a modern appearance. It offers stable rotation, low noise, convenient operation, and high productivity, and it includes a built-in cooling system that cools the specimen during grinding, thereby preventing overheating and potential damage to the microstructure.
