Product Introduction

The intelligent four‑channel direct shear apparatus is primarily used to determine the shear strength of soil, as well as its internal friction angle φ and cohesion C.

Key Features

A pure electric motor is used to apply vertical consolidation pressure, which is more than twice that of currently available direct shear testers in China. This provides favorable conditions for testing and scientific research on deep‑seated foundation soils. Moreover, the shear stress is driven by a stepper motor, enabling stepless adjustment of the shear rate. Consequently, this setup constitutes an ideal testing method for determining the shear strength of soils under various soil types and test protocols.

Main configuration:

1. The shear box consists of an upper box, a lower box, permeable stones, and a pressure-transmitting piston, accommodating soil samples with a diameter of 61.8 mm and a height of 20 mm; custom dimensions are available upon request.

2. The vertical loading system employs a high-precision stepper motor to apply pressure, ensuring stable pressure, rapid response, and accuracy within ±0.1% of full scale.

3. The horizontal shear stress shearing system, driven by a stepper motor and a mechanical transmission system and controlled by a microcontroller, features stepless speed regulation with a rate range of 0.001–4 mm/min. It automatically stops upon reaching a peak load and performs a rapid return-to‑zero reset.

4. High-precision horizontal shear stress sensor, with an accuracy of ≤±0.1% F.S.;

5. Equipped with a 640×480 high-definition LCD touch-screen display; it can both control the application of consolidation pressure and perform shear testing, features a built-in data logger for real-time data storage, and supports standalone operation.

6. A data acquisition and processing software suite that monitors in real time, generates curves, identifies failure points, plots strength envelopes, and ultimately determines the strength parameters C and φ.
