Product Introduction:

This melt flow rate tester is used to determine the melt flow rate of various polymers in the viscous flow state. It is suitable for engineering plastics with relatively high melting temperatures, such as polycarbonate, polyarylsulfone, and fluoroplastics, as well as for materials with lower melting points, including polyethylene, polystyrene, polypropylene, ABS resin, and polyoxymethylene. It is widely employed in the plastics manufacturing, plastic products, petrochemical industries, and by relevant educational institutions, research organizations, and commodity inspection agencies.
This melt flow rate tester complies with the test methods for melt mass flow rate and melt volume flow rate of thermoplastic materials as specified in GB/T 3682.1 “Determination of Melt Mass Flow Rate and Melt Volume Flow Rate of Thermoplastics,” ISO 1133:2011, and ASTM D 1238-2010.

Working principle

Melt flow rate refers to the mass of molten thermoplastic that flows through a standard die in 10 minutes under specified temperature and load conditions, expressed as MFR, or the volume of melt that flows through the standard die in 10 minutes, expressed as MVR. These values characterize the viscous–flow behavior of thermoplastics in the molten state; see Sections 6 and 7 of GB/T 3682‑2, “Determination of Melt Mass Flow Rate and Melt Volume Flow Rate of Thermoplastics.”
