Product Introduction:

This instrument is designed for the rapid determination of oil content in various fibers, including wool and synthetic fibers. It is suitable for factories, research institutions, and testing laboratories in the wool‑spinning, synthetic‑fiber, and cotton‑spinning industries, and is particularly well suited for quick monitoring of oil levels during production processes.

Principle and Characteristics:

This instrument employs solvent extraction to isolate oils from fibers, operating on the same principle as the Soxhlet method: ether or another suitable solvent is used to extract surface‑bound lipids, followed by solvent evaporation and quantification of the oil content.

The distinctive feature of this instrument is that it mechanically compresses the fibers during extraction while simultaneously heating to evaporate the solvent, thereby accelerating the extraction process; a pair of parallel tests can yield results in approximately one hour.

This instrument draws on the designs of similar devices from countries such as the United Kingdom and Japan. Its main unit features an all-metal construction, ensuring robustness and durability. The temperature-control system incorporates advanced technologies, including large-scale integrated circuits and linear correction, delivering precise temperature regulation and user-friendly operation.

Instrument Structure:

The instrument consists of a main unit and a temperature-control box, connected by a lead wire, with an additional power cord.

Test method:

1. Powering on the instrument: Connect the host unit to the temperature control box using the cables provided, and plug in the power cord. Press the main switch on the control box; at this point, the temperature controller will display numerical readings.

2. Setting the Temperature: Press the “SET” key on the temperature controller. The system will enter the temperature‑setting mode. Use the “<” key to shift the digits, the “∧” key to increase the value, and the “∨” key to decrease it, until the desired temperature is displayed. Then press the “SET” key again to save the setting. The instrument will then switch to automatic control, with the red and green indicator lights flashing alternately. Once the temperature reaches the set point, the test can begin. The appropriate temperature setting should be determined based on the properties of the solvent being used.
