Description

Product Introduction:

The action of a liquid on vulcanized or thermoplastic rubber causes the rubber to swell in volume; this phenomenon is known as “swelling.” Absorption of the liquid leads to substantial changes in the rubber’s physical and chemical properties, such as tensile strength, elongation at break, and hardness. Furthermore, soluble plasticizers and anti‑aging agents within the rubber can be readily extracted by volatile liquids, resulting in significant alterations to the material’s physical and chemical characteristics after drying. Consequently, it is crucial to evaluate the rubber’s performance both after immersion and following additional drying. The LBTZ‑19 optical tester for assessing liquid‑induced changes in vulcanized thermoplastic rubber measures the diagonal length of the specimen, complementing devices that measure its length and width; it can accommodate specimens up to 50 mm in length.
