Description
Product Introduction
This product is used for conducting shear strength tests on waterproofing membranes. Two surfaces of a membrane of specified dimensions are bonded to concrete blocks using cementitious materials, thereby forming a shear‑strength specimen. After curing under prescribed conditions and for a specified duration, the specimen is mounted on a tensile testing machine. At a set crosshead speed, the two concrete blocks are pulled in the direction tangential to the membrane until failure occurs, enabling determination of the membrane’s capacity to resist shear forces. The ratio of the maximum force recorded during the test to the effective bonded area represents the shear strength of the membrane. This method complies with GB/T 21897‑2008 “Waterproofing Membranes—Shear Strength.”
