The ZC‑YJ150 single‑brick in‑situ single‑shear testing apparatus is a specialized instrument designed to determine the shear strength of masonry. This compact hydraulic device applies a force to the masonry units by means of a rising piston that presses against a cover plate, inducing shear between the top and bottom faces of the units. The shear strength of the masonry is calculated from the measured force at which shear occurs. The test results are highly intuitive, though the testing process causes localized damage to the specimen.
