LBT-FWD Pavement In-Service Falling Weight Deflectometer

The FWD series falling‑weight deflectometer was developed based on the Danish Dynatest 8000 series, incorporating the technological strengths of international brands while adapting to China’s road conditions and the practical needs of testing agencies. The operating principle of the falling‑weight deflectometer is as follows: a hydraulic system lifts a hammer to a preset height, then releases it, allowing it to fall freely and impact a load plate placed on the pavement under test, thereby inducing a measurable deformation in the pavement. Simultaneously, the data acquisition controller records the pavement deflection measured by a closely coupled deflection sensor and the impact force measured by a load cell. The system can also collect ambient air temperature, pavement temperature, asphalt temperature, and GPS data. Data are acquired and analyzed using a portable computer running Windows XP, Windows 7, or Windows 8, along with dedicated software.

Product Introduction:

The FWD series falling‑weight deflectometer was developed based on the Danish Dynatest 8000 series, incorporating the technological strengths of international brands while taking into account China’s road conditions and the practical needs of testing agencies.

Working principle of the falling-weight deflectometer:

After lifting the hammer to the set height via the hydraulic system, the hammer is released and falls freely, impacting the bearing plate placed on the pavement under test, thereby inducing a specific deformation in the pavement. Simultaneously, the data acquisition controller records the ground deformation measured by the deflection sensor in close contact with the pavement, as well as the impact force measured by the load cell. The system can also collect ambient air temperature, pavement temperature, asphalt temperature, and GPS data. A portable computer running Windows XP, Windows 7, or Windows 8, along with dedicated data acquisition software, enables data analysis and processing.
