This instrument is designed to evaluate the resistance of paint and varnish coatings—whether single-layer or multi-layer systems—to cracking or delamination from a metallic substrate when bent around a cylindrical mandrel under standardized conditions. It complies with the national standard GB 6742‑86 and is also in accordance with ISO 1519, ASTM D 522, and DIN 53152.
