Description
Product Introduction
The paint film impact tester is used to evaluate the ability of colored paints, clear varnishes, or related products to resist delamination or cracking from the substrate when their dry films are subjected to impacts from different spheres under standardized test conditions. This assessment reflects both the mechanical strength of the coating and its adhesion to the substrate. Although a wide variety of impact testers are currently available domestically and internationally, they all ultimately operate on the same principle: the impact energy generated by the falling height of a weighted hammer multiplied by the hammer’s mass, which induces failure in the coating.
Furthermore, for certain coatings, a reverse impact test may also be conducted. This allows for the determination of the coating’s instantaneous elongation.
Technical Specifications:
Maximum impact height: 0–50 cm, 0–100 cm
Impact height graduation: 1 cm
Impact hammer mass: 1 kg, with a detachable hook; lead pellets can be added or removed inside the hammer body to adjust its weight.
Punch size: The steel ball at the end of the impact rod is 8 mm.
Mold base size: 15 mm
Impact hammer impact depth: 2 mm
The instrument has a net weight of 11 kilograms.
