Description
Product Introduction:
This product is a tank-type unit, with the entire machine constructed from stainless steel and meticulously crafted. It features an attractive design, excellent corrosion resistance, energy efficiency, ease of maintenance, and a long service life. It is primarily used for determining the water absorption of thermal insulation materials in construction. This equipment is compatible with both full-immersion and partial-immersion testing methods.
Product Features:
Equipped with a stainless steel sink, offering excellent corrosion resistance.
With a well‑thought‑out design and simple operation, this is an experimental chamber suitable for research, production, and end‑use organizations, as well as for petroleum‑product research, manufacturing, and application entities, and for relevant colleges, universities, and research institutes.
It is primarily used for determining the water absorption of thermal insulation materials for construction and can perform both full-immersion and partial-immersion tests. It features automatic water replenishment, and the water level in the tank can be adjusted as needed.

1. Sample
The dimensions of plate‑shaped specimens are 150 mm × 150 mm, with a thickness equal to the original thickness of the sample. For tubular specimens, the length is 150 mm, and the cross‑section is either semicircular or sector‑shaped; the outer arc length of the sector is 150 mm, and the wall thickness equals the original wall thickness of the sample. Specimens shall be cut from the mid‑region of the sample, with edges at least 100 mm away from the sample edges. The surface must be clean, smooth, and free of cracks. The number of specimens shall be no fewer than six.
Full-immersion test method:
Measure the dimensions of the test specimen. For plate‑shaped products, use a steel ruler to measure length and width. On both the front and back faces, take four measurements along each dimension—length and width—reporting results to the nearest 1 mm. Thickness shall be measured with a thickness gauge; for each specimen, take four readings at evenly spaced locations, reporting to the nearest 0.1 mm. For tubular products, wall thickness is measured at both ends of the specimen, with four readings taken at each end. Outer arc length is measured at four equally spaced points around the tube’s circumference. The nominal inner diameter shall be used as the reported value.
Place the sample in a drying oven and dry it at 105.5°C until a constant weight is achieved. If the sample contains components that are readily volatile or prone to decomposition at this temperature, dry it at 60.5°C or at a temperature 5–10°C below the volatilization point, until a constant weight is obtained. Weigh the sample, then secure it on a rigid stainless-steel sieve using fine metal wire, conforming to the sample’s shape. Slowly press the sample into the water to a depth of 25 mm, and apply a pressure block to hold it in place, as shown in the figure. Ensure that the samples do not come into contact with one another or with the walls of the water tank. Maintain this condition for 2 hours. Carefully remove the sample, lift one corner to allow it to drain for 5 minutes, gently wipe off any surface water with a wrung‑out damp cloth, and immediately weigh the sample.
