Description
Product Introduction:
This machining method serves as a complementary approach for non-conductive materials that are difficult to process on wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) machines. It particularly excels when machining graphite and graphene—materials that pose significant challenges for WEDM—and can also be used to machine non-metallic materials such as concrete and rock, as well as brittle materials like glass, ceramics, magnetic materials, silicon‑steel cores, semiconductor materials, carbon‑fiber composites, and other hard, brittle or composite materials. It is capable of producing cylindrical (with optional configuration) and square specimens through precision cutting.
Product Features:
- This equipment is a gantry-type wire-cutting machine. The workpiece is mounted on the worktable and moves back and forth, while the horizontal cutting wire reciprocates vertically along the Z-axis.
- The equipment is fully enclosed and protected. The machine tool itself consists primarily of a bed, a wire‑cutting head, an electrical control system, and a cutting‑fluid circulation system. The wire‑cutting head comprises a drive‑wheel assembly, a Z‑axis positioning mechanism—including a lead screw, guide rails, and a servo motor—and a tensioning device. The electrical control system manages the Y‑ and Z‑axis movements of the wire‑cutting head, the operation of the wire, and the activation of the water pump and lighting. The cutting‑fluid circulation system features a reservoir; a water pump draws the cutting fluid upward and delivers it via flexible hoses to the cutting zone, where it flows onto the worktable before returning to the reservoir. The pump then recirculates the fluid, enabling continuous reuse.
- This equipment employs a circular diamond wire as a dedicated cutting tool, offering low energy consumption under operating conditions, high cutting efficiency, smooth cut surfaces, and narrow kerfs, thereby minimizing material waste and reducing processing losses. It is water-cooled and equipped with a water tank. Depending on the material, it can perform wet or dry cutting; for dry cutting, a dust extraction system must be provided separately or optionally selected.
- Two-axis high-precision linear guides and high-precision ball screws ensure smooth feed motion, enhancing the cutting accuracy and quality of workpieces while maintaining precision and stability throughout the machining process.
- To achieve superior machining quality, this equipment employs an automatic wire‑tensioning system; the loop‑type automatic tensioning ensures stable cutting conditions for high‑precision workpiece cutting. At the same time, it effectively maintains constant tension on the steel wire, significantly reducing the machine’s wire‑breakage rate.
- Electrical System: The machine’s feed motion is controlled by a PLC‑based automation system, with an operator panel that combines pushbuttons and a touchscreen. The ninth‑generation control interface is streamlined, with function keys clearly laid out at a glance, making it intuitive to use—“familiar at first sight” and “easy to operate once you see it.” After securely clamping the workpiece, manually align it to the cutting position, measure its height and diameter (or length), and then enter the cutting parameters. Once all settings are configured, simply start the machine for fully automated machining.
- The machine tool’s axes are driven by a combination of precision linear guides, ball screws, and servo motors. In manual mode, axis movement can be controlled via a joystick or a touchscreen. The control system also features a function that allows users to input fixed values, enabling the axes to automatically move specified distances.
- This equipment can cut virtually any material. Commonly processed materials include concrete, rock, carbon‑fiber composites, monocrystalline silicon, polycrystalline silicon, ceramics, glass, graphite, carbon foam, aluminum (aluminum honeycomb), and more. Please note that this is a new‑generation machine; the specifications provided are for reference only and shall be subject to the actual machine configuration.
